Happy Monday you all! Ahhh it’s finally here! Two years ago TODAY, Albie and I tied the knot in front of all of our closest family and friends (holy moly… I swear it feels like just yesterday). And I am sooo excited to get a little mushy gushy and share one of the best days of my life with you!
Our love story started in 2012 at work (yes… WORK). Albie was the Operations Manager and I was the new Sales Manager on the block. Long story short… Albie trained me for a few days in his department so I could understand how our two departments worked together. I still remember being so incredibly nervous to spend the day with him! It was the one week that I made sure to put on makeup and actually do my hair.
Fast forward a few months, and one of my colleagues decided it was a good idea to tell Albert that I had a huge crush on him. I guess God had a plan for us, because we were going out on our first date a week later! NEVER in a million years did I ever believe I would date (let alone marry) someone from work. In fact, we kept our relationship secret for almost an entire year! If you can imagine… two people waking up next to each other in the morning and then taking separate cars to work. Yep, that was us!
Albert proposed in March of 2015, a week before I was planning to put in my two weeks at work. Needless to say, it was VERY good timing! Left for a new job, while also sporting some new bling. It was the start of an incredible journey with the love of my life.
Albie has truly changed my life for the better. To this day, he instills an immediate sense of confidence in me. I never understood the term “a relationship should be easy.” But now, I totally do! I understand that we all go through ups and downs and life challenges and experiences, but knowing you have your life partner to support you through those times (even if you want to chop his/her head off once in awhile), is the best feeling in the world!
Our wedding was truly a dream come true. It enveloped everything we are as a couple. From our custom vows, to our dances, to our family & friends that came and partied until 4am with us… it was everything we could’ve dreamed of and more! To see a little YouTube clip of our special day, click here.
Albie and I aren’t super traditional, so naturally, our wedding wasn’t either. The wedding was hosted at the Forest House Lodge in Forest Hill, CA. The ceremony stood on a hill overlooking the entire Tahoe National Forest. The vibe was definitely bohemian chic, with A LOT of greenery and floral throughout. My girls wore an array of colors from yellow to pink to peach, and Albert’s guys wore navy. I loved every second of planning our wedding, and I think the little details were my favorite part. Instead of me rambling on though, I’ll let you judge it for yourself (make sure to scroll down). You can also see more highlights from our wedding as seen on Style Me Pretty.
Instead of wearing white, I opted for a blush pink dress by Maggie Sottero.
I was OBSESSED with my bridesmaid’s floral robes! The print was super vibrant, and I obviously had to throw a little leopard into the mix as well.
My florist, The Posh Posey, completely blew me away with the flower arrangements! The bouquets and surrounding floral really transformed the entire venue.
All my bridesmaid’s wore different silhouettes and colors! I had my Maid of Honors (2) wear champagne and ivory so my blush gown would pop more.
Our first look!
We had these animation heads designed to look like our bridal party! It was a huge hit!
So blessed to have had my dad walk me down the aisle! I will always treasure this moment!
We wrote our vows on tree stumps. My “ugly” face says it all… Albert killed it and we couldn’t stop laughing the entire ceremony.
We did it!!
The ceremony site at Forest House Lodge was unbelievable!
My beautiful momma!
Our seating chart was written on distressed glass doors.
We had custom signs made of our nicknames… “Julz” and “Albie.”
These chargers were a dream!
Our amazing bridal party!
Our cake was 4 layers, made up of 3 flavors: Raspberry Lemon, Strawberry & Funfetti!
Our party favors were definitely made with love… filled with my dad’s famous jalapeno jelly!
